BELL Architects is a growing studio-type architectural design firm dedicated to high quality sustainable design, historic preservation, and community development. We are committed to creative design, technological innovation and collaboration. Our approach to project development encourages the learning process and career advancement for all members of the firm.

We enjoy a variety of project types for the private and public sectors including: institutional buildings, recreation and community centers; urban infill, multi-family residential, commercial and mixed use projects. Our projects include master plans, facility assessments, historic preservation, adaptive reuse and new construction.

We are seeking talented, resourceful, and self-motivated individuals for a full-time staff architect position to help us serve our existing clients and to help us develop new opportunities. The successful candidate should have 3 to 6 years of experience and be on the path to licensure.  Responsibilities include participating in all project phases to solve problems, evaluate, select and specify materials and products, design and detailing. The successful candidate must work  effectively  in a team environment and should be interested in all aspects of architectural and engineering practice from preliminary design through construction administration with an emphasis on detailing and construction documents. A working knowledge of sustainable design and high performance building principles is desired.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Architecture.
  • Strong computer skills, with proficiency in Microsoft Outlook, Word, Excel, Powerpoint, and Microsoft Project.
  • Hands-on proficiency with Revit 2013 or later and Adobe Creative Design Suite. Familiarity with Microstation Architecture, SketchUp and 3D Modeling Software is desirable.
  • Ability to research, understand and implement Building Codes and other Regulatory requirements.

PROJECT MANAGER / PROJECT ARCHITECT – 8 to 15 years of experience

We enjoy a variety of project types for the private and public sectors including: institutional buildings, recreation and community centers; urban infill, multi-family residential, commercial and mixed use projects. Our projects include master plans, facility assessments, historic preservation, adaptive reuse and new construction.

We are seeking a talented, resourceful, and self-motivated leader for a full-time project manager / project architect position to help us serve our existing clients focused on institutional projects between $5M to $25M for new construction and primarily adaptive reuse.

The successful candidate should be a licensed architect with 8 to 15 years of experience. Responsibilities include participating in all project phases to solve problems, evaluate, select and specify materials and products, design and detailing. The successful candidate must be effective working in a team environment and should be interested in all aspects of architectural and engineering practice from preliminary design through construction administration with an emphasis on presentations, writing and design development. The successful candidate must have excellent writing and graphic communication skills with a strong grasp in the use of geometry, scale, proportion, color and texture. A working knowledge of sustainable design and high performance building principles is desired.

  • LEEDap BD C accreditation is desirable.

HISTORICAL ARCHITECT – 8 to 15 years of experience

We are seeking a talented, resourceful, and self-motivated leader for a full-time historical architect position to help us serve our existing and prospective clients. The successful candidate should be a licensed architect with 8 to 15 years of experience. Responsibilities include participating in all project phases to solve problems, evaluate, select and specify materials and products, design and detailing.The successful candidate must be effective working in a team environment and should be interested in all aspects of architectural and engineering practice from preliminary design through construction administration with an emphasis on presentations, research, and design development. The successful candidate must have excellent writing and graphic communication skills with a strong grasp in the use of geometry, scale, proportion, color and texture. A working knowledge of sustainable design and high performance building principles is desired. The ideal candidate will have proven skills in facilitating meetings, successful experience in historical research, Section 106 Process and rehabilitation design.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Architecture, with a concentration in historic preservation.
  • Meets the Secretary of Interior Professional Qualification standards for Architecture and Historic Architecture as defined in 36 CFR Part 61, Appendix A.
  • Licensed as an architect (in good standing) in one or more states.
  • LEEDap BD C accreditation is desirable.
  • Strong computer skills, with proficiency in Microsoft Outlook, Word, Excel, Powerpoint, and Microsoft Project.
